Work Safety and Wellbeing Advisor [Australia]


 

About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the effective development, management and delivery of professional workplace health and safety services throughout West Moreton Health (WMH). Reporting to the Safety Team Leader, this role will assist to implement, review and report on work safety and wellbeing responses and strategies, policies, guidelines, procedures and networks consistent with Departmental and WMH policy.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Sound knowledge of and demonstrated application of workplace health and safety legislative standards and guidelines relevant to a large complex organisation;
  • Ability to identify workplace hazards by analysing workplace operations, processes and work practices, and provide practical guidance and advice on workplace health and safety matters.
  • Experience in workplace health and safety inspections, audits and investigations, including the application of risk management principles and provision of recommendations to control hazards and facilitate the implementation of flexible, responsive, client focused solutions to improve health and safety outcomes;
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, evidenced by the ability to manage projects, facilitate work groups and networks in a multidisciplinary environment, and maintain effective working relationships using high-level verbal and written communication and report writing skills;
  • Ability to work independently and contribute constructively to the team by setting priorities, planning and monitoring workflow, participating in research and training, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives relating to work practices and procedures, leading to business improvement outcomes.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
