As Legal Counsel your primary focus in this position will be on working on transactional support in syndicate and bilateral financing transactions for the core lending and project finance business lines. Within this position your focus initially will be on transactions that support the energy transition (wind farms, batteries etc) as well as more general corporate & leverage lending.

An average working day
Are you curious about what would be on your to-do list on an average working day? Your day-to-day activities include:
- Keeping control of the legal risks and legal framework for the bank with respect to financing structures;
- Being a sparring partner for your fellow team members and colleagues in various business departments, both within the Region Europe and Africa and beyond;
- Accurately identifying potential issues and risks;
- Drafting of legal documentation;
- Coordinating, negotiating and overseeing transactions;
- Keeping up with the latest legislation and applying it in our daily practice;
- Cooperating with colleagues from different disciplines (e.g. Compliance and Risk) throughout the bank.

For this role you will work on corporate and leverage lending (financing working capital, acquisitions etc) and finance projects related to wind farms, batteries etc. which support the energy transition.

You and your talent
Customer focus, pro-activeness, organizational sensitivity, and decisiveness are clearly essential for this position. In addition, we are looking for the following qualifications:
- Masters of Law, preferably Dutch law qualified;
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in banking and finance. Experience within corporate finance and/or project finance is a big plus;
- Excellent command of the Dutch and English language.
This is what we offer you
- An attractive benefits package that fits scale 9 (between € 61,358 and € 87,635 gross a year including 13th month and 8% holiday pay), depending on your experience and seniority;
- € 750.00 budget to set up your home workplace and up to € 40.00 for working from home allowance per month;
- Personal budget of € 1.400 to spend on activities related to your personal development and career;
- An Employee Benefit Budget (EBB) of 10% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out;
